Everything you've built, and what needs doing next.

Step 1 of 6

Which business are we building for?

Paste their web address. I'll read the site and pull out everything I can.

?How this step worksabout 30 seconds
  1. Paste the business’s web address below — no need for https.
  2. Press Read the website and wait a moment.
  3. If it can’t reach the site, open their page, press Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C, and paste it in instead. Works just as well.

Why it matters: Everything after this is built from what the site says — name, phone, hours, services.

Paste the page instead

On their site press Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C. Click in here and press Ctrl+V.

Step 2 of 6 · the important one

Now their reviews.

This is where the gap comes from. Their website tells you what they sell. Their reviews tell you what customers are actually afraid of. Twenty seconds of copy and paste.

?How this step worksabout 2 minutes — the most important step
  1. Check the name in the box, and add the town if it isn’t there.
  2. Press Open their reviews in Maps, click the business, then click the review count.
  3. Scroll down a few times so ten or fifteen reviews load.
  4. Ctrl+A, Ctrl+C, come back, click the big box and press Ctrl+V.
  5. Press Find the gap.

Why it matters: The website says what they sell. Only the reviews say what customers are frightened of — and that’s what you build around. Ten reviews finds a pattern; two doesn’t.

What to search for on Google Maps

Searching for: —

Use the phone number if you have one — a phone search lands on the exact listing, where a name often returns a list. On the listing, click the review count, scroll a few times, then Ctrl+A and Ctrl+C.

Paste 10–15 reviews here

nothing pasted yet
Why paste rather than auto-pull? Google's API returns five reviews maximum. Fifteen is what finds the pattern. Pasting takes twenty seconds and gives a better read.

Step 3 of 6

Here’s what their customers are actually worried about.

Check it over. Anything blank, just fill it in — everything here is editable.

?How this step worksabout 1 minute
  1. Read the dark card — that’s the gap, with the evidence underneath.
  2. Scan What I found and fill in anything marked “not found”.
  3. Then build the Gap Report: add their job value and enquiries, and paste a competitor’s reviews if you can.

Why it matters: The Gap Report is what you attach to the first email. It turns a cold pitch into a finding about their own business.

The Gap Report

Turn this into something you can send them.

A one-page diagnostic in their name, proving the gap with their own reviews and putting a number on what it costs. This is what you attach to the first email — not a pitch, a finding.

Their average job value
Roughly how many enquiries a month
Add competitors — makes it far stronger

Paste reviews from one or two rivals in the same town. The report then shows whether this worry is theirs alone or the whole trade's — and that comparison is what makes an owner reply.

Nothing pasted yet — optional, but it makes the report much harder to argue with.

Step 4 of 6

Where should the assistant live?

It’s written and ready. It just needs somewhere a customer can reach it. Pick one — you can always do the other later.

?How this step works5 or 15 minutes — your choice
  1. Pick where the assistant should live — the two cards below.
  2. Follow the steps that appear.
  3. End up with a link you can open in a browser.

Why it matters: That link is the product. Everything after this — the seven places, the monthly report, the renewal — depends on it existing somewhere a customer can reach.

This is what it does

A real exchange, built from the gap you just found. This is what a customer sees instead of a contact form.

Build the page

Greeting line
Accent colour
  1. Open SETUP.txt — it walks you through the other two files.
  2. Put worker.js on Cloudflare and add your OpenAI key as a secret.
  3. Paste the worker address into assistant.html, upload it, and you have a link.

Fifteen minutes the first time, five after that. The key never appears in the page, so nobody can take it.

  1. Open gemini.google.com/gems/create and sign in with any Google account.
  2. Paste into the Instructions box.
  3. Name it, then press Save.
  4. Open it, press Share, choose Anyone with the link, and copy it.

That link is what goes in the seven places on the next step.

ChatGPT
  1. Open chatgpt.com/gpts/editor.
  2. Click the Configure tab — not Create. Create interviews you; Configure lets you paste.
  3. Paste into Instructions, add a name, then Create → Anyone with the link.

If the editor won’t open you’re not on a paid plan. Use Gemini — the assistant is identical.

Claude
  1. Open claude.ai/projects and create a project.
  2. Paste into Set project instructions, then share the project.

Next: put it in seven places

Step 5 of 6

Put it in seven places, then send the page.

One link per place, each tracked separately. That's what tells you which one is working.

?How this step worksabout 20 minutes with the client
  1. Paste the link you just made, press Generate the seven links.
  2. Work down the list, putting each link in its place, ticking as you go.
  3. At month end, fill in the numbers below and print the page.

Why it matters: Seven tracked links is what separates this from a chatbot. The missed-call text usually beats the rest combined.

Next: the email that gets a reply

Step 6 of 6 · the part that pays

Now send it to the owner.

You've built something nobody asked you for, about a business you've never spoken to. That's the whole pitch. Here's the email.

?How this step works2 minutes to send
  1. Press Copy the email and paste it into your mail app.
  2. Attach the Gap Report from step 3.
  3. Change nothing except your name, then send.
  4. Put the day-3 follow-up and the day-14 link check in your diary now.

Why it matters: Ten built and ten sent is one evening. Most won’t reply — that’s why you send ten rather than agonise over one.

Subject and body

Change nothing except the link. The short, plain version beats the polished one — it reads like a person, not a pitch.

What happens after you press send

  1. Most won't reply. That's normal. It's why you send ten, not one.
  2. Day 3 — follow up once.
  3. Day 7 — follow up again, then stop.
  4. When one replies, get on the phone. Fifteen minutes. Ask what they'd do with forty more enquiries a month, then stop talking.
  5. When they say yes: your setup fee, then your monthly. One afternoon's work. (Set your prices under your initials, top right.)
  6. Day 14 — check the links are live. Put it in your diary now. Half of all cancellations start with a link nobody ever clicked.
  7. Day 30 — send the page. Step 5 builds it. Three sentences in the email, the page attached.
